It has been said that most of the problems that exist in our world today could have either been totally avoided or drastically reduced if people only educate themselves on the issues. Unfortunately, this lack of “self education” is not always as a result of a person’s inaccessibility to the right resources, but in most cases by their inability to read and write.
Prayas believes that education helps women take advantage of opportunities that could benefit them and their families, preparing women for the labor force and helping them understand their legal and reproductive rights.
Women's education in India plays a very important role in the overall development of the country. It not only helps in the development of half of the human resources, but in improving the quality of life at home and outside. Educated women not only tend to promote education of their girl children, but also can provide better guidance to all their children. Moreover educated women can also help in the reduction of infant mortality rate and growth of the population.
